The nuclear energy pipeline that begins with mining uranium and ends with spent nuclear fuel generally occurs in the sequential process illustrated above. As noted with the bucking bronco, mining and manufacturing are already part of WY legacy industries and workforce – and most Wyomingites are very proud of that. Uranium enrichment for fuel fabrication, the creation of nuclear energy via deployed reactors, and the issue of storing spent nuclear fuel (SNF) have never been legacy industries in Wyoming.
