Wyoming Nuclear Activity Info Hub

Wyoming Nuclear Activity Info Hub

Home

Wyoming Nuclear Activity Info Hub is designed to create a hub of information regarding nuclear activity in Wyoming, or that effects Wyoming (news, articles, town & city council, legislative meetings) that can easily be forgotten over time. Here we hope to maintain a repository of this information.

Using our website is easy.  Click “PROJECTS” on the main menu and you will be immediately brought to a map of Wyoming.  Click on the links provided on the map for any current project to learn more.  All the other menu items are self-explanatory – click around and explore.  Every page, except for this Home page, has a side-bar on the right that shows the most recent News items posted.  The side bar also has a “Index” drop-down menu – select any topic to find all the info we have published on any county, city, nuclear company, etc.

If we have missed something please let us know and email us the information. If it’s an online article email the link (URL). If it’s in print, let us know the publication and date – if possible take a photo of the article and email the information.

Thank you for your participation.

Please share this website.

If you would like to be notified of updates on our site, send us an email with your request. Email addresses are used only for this website.

Email addresses will not be shared with anyone, and we do not use any third party mailing service.

Attending Public Meetings with Eyes Wide Open

Most citizens attend educational public meetings with open minds because they are seeking information they do not yet have.  That’s good.  We suggest citizens also attend public meetings with their eyes wide open as well – in regards to how the meeting has been organized and who will be the featured speakers.

Public meetings can be planned and organized in a number of ways.

1) Some are straightforward with information offered, followed by a simple question and answer period, or an opportunity for public comments.

2) Other meetings can be strategically planned to build consensus of the public for a pre-determined goal already settled by the host(s) of the meeting.

The first type of meeting described above is ideal.  The second type of meeting described above is not ideal, because it manipulates people to “get to yes” – this is called the Delphi Technique.

We are not implying that any public meeting in Wyoming will use the Delphi Technique.  We are suggesting that Wyoming citizens educate themselves on what the Delphi Technique is so that they are informed on how they can be unknowingly manipulated.

The following are a few links to videos and documents that are handy for citizens to peruse and consider before attending a public meeting:
