…Allemand also read a statement from the Freedom Caucus during his town hall which indicated the Caucus supports nuclear energy production in Wyoming, but not nuclear waste storage.
“Wyoming must continue to be a leader in proven energy production, not settle as a dumping ground for nuclear waste from other states,” according to the Freedom Caucus statement read by Allemand during the town hall. “California billionaires insist on saddling our landscapes with their windmills, their solar panels, and now their radioactive casks.”
Allemand, a member of the Freedom Caucus, agrees with its stance on Radiant Nuclear.
The Freedom Caucus is in support of Radiant, in part because of its role in fulfilling President Donald Trump’s executive order Reinvigorating the Nuclear Industrial Base, which calls for 10 new functioning nuclear reactors by 2030, as well as increased reactor testing.
