Campbell County Admits Using Code Names for Economic Development Projects

CEO, Rusty Bell, for the Energy Capital Economic Development (ECED) organization for Campbell County presented a quarterly review at the Dec 2nd City of Gillette Council meeting.  During his 11 minute review Bell said:

“We have been inundated actually in the last few weeks with requests for information… so we’re spending a lot of time right now with site selector requests and putting data in for… um… for potential large projects actually… and so that’s exciting and I’d like to talk more about those when they come in…  We actually don’t know the project itself,  we don’t know the company itself… we get a project name… code name… we work with our folks here… private landholders… um… if they qualify for that… with whatever is requested, whether it’s land, whether it’s water, whether it’s power… it’s always power… then we work with them to put that information in the request…

Bell also took a question from Councilman Smith if any of the ECDC’s clients are involved with anything that has to do with nuclear waste.  Bell’s response was, “Not that I know of, and I think we have a done a good job in the last few months stating that.”
